Shir Glassworks - Handmade by Madeline & Ori Shir
Shir Glassworks is a husband-wife team where Madeline & Ori combine their two styles to create a wide range of functional and decorative glassware. Madeline began working with glass in 2012 with classes in Massachusetts, then continued her glass journey into college with a BFA in glass art from RIT. While she makes artwork using a range of glass processes, included furnace, fusing, coldwork and kilnwork, she is primarily a flame worker, sculpting molten glass at a torch. Her creations range from themed sculptural jewelry and figurines to conceptual, interactive installations. She has been teaching and demonstrating glass processes for the past six years. Ori began working with glass in production settings, apprenticing with local furnace glass artists. His work is primarily functional blown glass, ranging from cups and pitchers to lighting and sculpture. In 2023 Madeline and Ori started a journey with their own small-scale studio to continue their craft as their full-time business! |
Our glass practices include Furnace, Flamework, Fusing, Coldworking, Casting and multi-media creations.
